![]() I’m usually not a fan of cozy mysteries, as they can tend to be insipid and shallow, but this one is intelligent and engaging. The story had lots of red herrings and I will admit to not knowing who was behind all the murders until the end. I also appreciated that the true detective was not a dolt but equally intelligent. I enjoyed watching Heath become a detective as a way to save himself. ![]() But Lenox is barely at his uncle’s house for Christmas when his uncle’s fiancé is shot dead and he’s set up to take the fall. The story starts when a dead fat man is found at the entrance of Major Heathcliff Lenox’s house. But it’s also got a nice element of humor thrown in. ![]() It’s been described as a mix of Downton Abbey and Agatha Christie and it’s an apt description. I needed a bit of a breather from listening to deep books. ![]()
